When I first heard that Microsoft was giving out free domain names and website space for small business owners, I personally was excited. I have always been a strong believer in the idea that business owners should be allowed an affordable web presence. This is the perfect opportunity for business owners to get their very own website and domain main to match their business name for free!
Is there a catch?
The answer to that is no. I signed up for my website, and was online within a couple of days. However, there are several limitations. There are only a limited number of templates for the look of your site, and also a very limited amount of features that can be added to contribute to your site’s content. For some people this will work out fine but for others even the smallest customizations can be impossible.
How Do I Sign Up?
To get signed up all you have to do is go over to Office Live and sign up for an account. You will need a credit card number only to validate that you are not a spammer or someone using your website for another reason than that of business.
